I am so impressed with all the super Beegu work you have been doing this week – well done! Keep it up 🙂
Quick note for adults: if you’re able to then the London Climate Action Week learning does need a little prep work…preferably the night before.
Today you are going to create your own friend for Beegu and write a character description for them.
This guide to creating and writing about a monster might help you but remember your friend for Beegu can be entirely original (all your own idea) and doesn’t have to be “monstrous”.
Think of your own adjectives! 🙂
I’m looking forward to meeting Beegu’s friends and seeing their character descriptions!
Here are the answers to yesterday’s work:
Today’s lesson is about Counting Coins:
London Climate Action Week
This ties into our Science learning, our Rights Respecting learning and our general understanding of the world around us.
Due to corona, London Climate Action Week is actually happening in two parts this year – the first part between 1-3 July and the second 14-20 November when hopefully people will be able to move around more freely.
This action week has important meetings happening in it between scientists and people in the government about what can be done to prevent further climate change and it is also a time that is a reminder for everyone else to have a think again about what we can do to stop climate change. Hopefully in November there will also be some events that we can attend.
Let’s start by learning about what climate change is:
This video was made 5 years ago but unfortunately things haven’t really got any better, it is a good explanation though:
Some activities to develop understanding (they need some prep):
Below is a slideshow of different discussion topics about climate change. You won’t want to discuss all of them at once but maybe pick a few to start off with and then keep coming back to them at different points over the week 🙂
Let’s finish with a story…
What have you most enjoyed learning about today?
Do stay in touch.
Thinking of you,
Miss Linsley…and Mr Fielder 🙂
