Misunderstood Monday – 29/06/20

Greetings Platypuses,

Important things to note first…

Remember to do some regular exercise too. Joe Wicks and Kids Cosmic Yoga (both on YouTube) are great!

Today we are going to start by sharing a story. This story has a character who is a little bit misunderstood at first which is why today is called ‘Misunderstood Monday’. This story is going to be our book of the week and inspire our English work for the week. Mr Fielder and I both think it is a wonderful story and hope you enjoy it too!

English and Art

Here is the story of Beegu! You can watch the story and do the follow-up art activity then do the English challenges below.

Now let’s learn about synonyms:

Your first challenge for today is to make two lists – one list of synonyms for sad and one list of synonyms for happy. Use bullet points.

Now challenge two…write some sentences about Beegu using some of these synonyms you have thought of.

Do send your work in!

Today we are revising ordering numbers:

Please continue to give Google Classroom a go…it is the future!

If you would like a guide emailed to you please let me know and I can do that or if you have any questions I could help you with πŸ™‚

Over to Mr Fielder for…

Topic – Transport

Hello Platypuses – I hope you have been enjoying all out topic work on transport. I know that I have enjoyed putting together the presentations on google classroom and doing a lot of new learning myself.

Today we focus on another famous figure in history who helped change the way that people travel. He has an exciting name too…Isambard Kingdom Brunel. Head over to google classroom where you can learn about his life and work, take an exciting quiz and find details of the first of our engineering challenges this week. https://classroom.google.com/h

Let’s finish with a story…

What did you most enjoy learning about today?

Do stay in touch.
