With Pride Wednesday – 24/06/20

Greetings Platypuses,

You should always have pride in who you are, as long as you are being your best self, and later on today we are going to learn about a special celebration called Pride.

IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT! I would like to invite you to each send in a photo of yourself so that we can put together our very own class photo! This year we sadly couldn’t take one with everyone together like normal but we shouldn’t let that stop us from having one! If everyone sends in a photo we can put them together and then all of you can have a copy emailed out. So, please send in your photos as soon as possible and make sure nobody but yourself is in the photo unless it is a sibling who is also in Platypus class. Thank you 🙂

Now on with the learning…

Remember to send in your pupil comments for your report, as explained in yesterday’s blog. These are due on Friday.

If you haven’t done those yet then please work on those today. If you have then move onto BBC Bitesize where today you will be practising your creative writing skills by taking part in the national Writing Day Challenge!

Here are the answers to yesterday’s work:

Today we are Comparing Numbers (Lesson 3):

PSHCE (Personal, Social, Health & Citizenship Education) & RSE (Relationships & Sex Education)

Pride is all about being proud of ourselves and the many, wonderful families we come from.

Now let’s enjoy this lovely story about the importance of love in a family and all the different ways a family can be family.

Draw this out and create your own family heart (or I can email it to you, just let me know)

Let’s finish with a story…

What did you enjoy learning about today?

Stay in touch and remember to send in your pupil comments for the reports please!

  1. Hi 🙂 Well done Kiyana, it was quite the challenge! Well done mum as well, I’m glad you enjoyed it too.
Good work Kiyana, you wrote several sentences in only a short time and sometimes it makes it harder knowing you’re writing within a set amount of time. It is good for developing your focus though 🙂 Wow that sounds like an amazing day! Rainforest Cafe, Haven doll and Elsa and Anna cushion…no wonder you were happy! How lovely to have such a memorable day. Thanks for sharing the work.

  2. Hello Miss Linsley.

Kiyana had a good go at the 24/7 challenge even though she wasn’t looking forward to it. I decided to also have a go and found it fun trying to write a short story in 7 minutes. We both managed to write our stories before the timer ran out.

This is what Kiyana wrote without any help…

One day I went to the Rainforest Cafe. I got my Haven doll and I got my Elsa and Anna cushion and was happy.
