Thursday 2nd April

Good morning all! Hope you are all well today and feeling happy. Remember to record yoru mood on Zumos each day so I can keep track of how you are feeling. Today I feel….”Bring it on!”

Also don’t forget to complete the spelling test on Sumdog practising writing words with the o_e split digraph!

Maths Challenge:

This week we have been focusing on the numbers between 10 and 20. Looking at how they are formed from a group of ten and a bit (the ones). We also need to learn how to write these numbers as digits and words.

Can you copy and complete this table filling in the missing parts…

Now look at these number lines. Can you identify the number marked?

Now that we know these numbers between 10 and 20 are made up of ten and a bit we can write addition equations to represent how the are formed…

10 + 5 = 15

Now can you use write some addition equations to match these representations showing the 10 and a bit structure…

English and Science Challenge:

Yesterday you did some reading about how to look after different types of pet.

Today and tomorrow can you design a leaflet for a pet shop with instructions on it explaining how to look after pet of your choosing. It could be one that you learnt about in the reading yesterday or a different pet.

You can use this ebook to find out more about caring for different animals https://www.dkfindout.com/uk/animals-and-nature/pet-care/

Here are some sentences starters you may want to use.

  • You must…
  • You need to…
  • Remember to…
  • Always…
  • Do not…
  • Never…

Computing Challenge:

Today is our computing lesson so if you haven’t had a chance to go on to code.org yet them please try and compete some of the activities.

  1. Excellent instruction writing Jovani. I am so impressed you took the time to do your own research. I agree brining a wold home as a pet would be a bad idea but they are wonderful animals in the wild!

  2. Hi Mr Fielder,

I decided to do my leaflet on wolves-dogs as I know I would never be able to have one and I really like them. Me and my mum watched some videos so I can understand.

In jovani’s own words how to look after wolve-dogs:

    You must always train them
You need to make sure you are not too close
    Remember to be gentle
Always feed them the right food
    Never bring one home

  3. Lovely to hear what both of you have been up to. I would love to hear more about Big Bunny when we are back at school. I had a bunny called Rupert when I was growing up. He was very cheeky and very hard to catch when you let him out the hutch! PS. Fantastic use of emojis!!

  5. Hi Mr Fielder. Daniel says, “I did lots of coding on code.org and it was really fun”. Anna says “I did a leaflet about bunnies because I have a bunny named Big Rabbit. I said give them carrots every day and clean up their poo.” Both say “we miss you and we miss our friends”.

  6. Muhammad has had fun learning and designing a leaflet in how to look after Rabbits. Here are a few facts he included:
-Rabbits need a hutch and space to run, stretch and play
-Rabbits eat a varied diet of fresh fruit and vegetables and hay. They always need fresh drinking water
    – make sure you keep the food in a heavy bowl because Rabbits love to tip them over
    – Always give Rabbits carrots as a treat because its high in sugar
    – Rabbits need to have injections every year to keep them healthy

Enjoy and thank you, Muhammad 🙂

  8. Hello Mr Fielder. Kiyana has chosen to do her leaflet on how to look after a cat, as this is her favourite animal.

Here are some of the things she has wrote in her own words…

“Remember to clean your cats litter box”.

“ You must take your cat to the vet”.

“Train your cat to use a scratching post”.

“ Always give your cat clean water”

Kiyana is missing school and all her friends very much.
